What upset you today?

That I awoke and realized that I still live in a country filled with rednecks. But I soon realized that some were actually ok, as one poster noted, and felt better.

I get crap thrown at me.  If were to get upset I wouldn't last too long...

Yep, a terrible state of affairs, and this entire situation is showing our political leaders for the callow, cowardly, and ineffective bunch they really are.

This toddler that washed up on a beach in Turkey. I believe he was a refugee fleeing to Greece.

you aren't kidding about that.  Look at exactly what I said..

Yeah.. so did spilling my beer all over my paperwork. 

It is just a snapshot of a much larger human tragedy that.. well.. seems oh so far away from the rest of us.  You get caught up in the mundane concerns of life... insulated by the relative security we have in our lives.. yet if one has a heart and sees pictures like that you really just want to crawl under a rock and insulate yourself and try to forget that while you have it lucky, good job, good life etc etc. there are a some that risk their lives to have a chance to have what we all do sake SO for granted.

but this cuts to the heart of what really eats right wingers up alive.. judicial activism.  sh*t..  there is a reason why the GOP never failed to bring up 'defense of marriage' constitutional ammendments at the state level.... in battleground states.. during Presidential election years.

It turns out the base of bigots, and holier than thous and again taps into a primary theme of the right wing..  Federal laws trumping state laws.. and more pariculary.. the Supreme Court smacking down obvious, yet voter approved, laws that do violate the very nature of tolerance and freedom this goddamned country was suppposedly to represent.  Freedom not just for some.. but ALL. 

bah...

well... she is perfect fodder for internet lynch mobs.. and yet again.. like that a****le dentist who shot the Lion..  pure enjoyment on our part. Zero sympathy.  Love how her sorted past has already been drug into the public arena.

I'd just like to tell her....Who gives a f**k what you believe.. no one is forcing her to marry or violate what she believes.. just sign the damned thing.
