"Sing a long family album, The Wall." ;) great..

I was muttering the bridge to Run Like Hell (amuse myself) and someone seriously(oh yes) thought I was making a death threat to him. (Very surreal to me). Don't get that with the Sound Of Music  though- an easy comparison to make as The Wall is such sweet tender, romantic and sentimental sing a long a music.

Actually having a sing-a-long-a-prog album has got to be a novelty in itself.

All Floyd albums are great on their individual merits. (I would not listen to The Final Cut expecting to hear More). I do appreciate that Waters and Co take the least rock oriented music from the Wall and make a rock album out of it.

So I voted for the PF album where I came in. Relics. (yes I am being ever so slightly sarky). I think it's great but it's omission (and lack of expansion) from the catalogue puzzles me.

FWIW I voted for DG by DG and Animals. And the Final Cut. I really like it but I also used to really hate it. No other album has made that journey so it's well worth a thumbs up.

Comfortably Numb, Hey You, Mother and a few other tracks save the day for me...

I find this album overrated but CN is my favorite Pink Floyd song.

The only sing along track that could be perceived as a family sing along song is another brick in the wall. This song was made popular due to MTV video and the tune however I disagree that The Wall is Disney prog, to me peeps who say that have not heard the album fully to be honest.
It's like i.e. someone saying they like Pink Floyd and their fav track is another brick in the wall Stern Smile clearly not a PF listener to me.

I love The Wall. It's far from overrated to me. It is sonic perfection.
Not many concept albums can match it for me. Sometimes I actually feel its disrespectful to say The Wall is overrated.
So much work was put into the production of that album. It's mega.
I hold 'the Wall' in very high regard. But hey, it's the 4th highest selling album of all time for a very damn good reason.

My top 5:

Animals
Wish You Were Here
Meddle
Dark Side of the Moon
Momentary Lapse in Reason

And reading this thread, I have, now playing in my head...

"And I have become...comfortably numb....kumbaya my lord...kumbaya..."

Not exactly family sing a long, but somehow that's what has popped in my head.

Definately not piper or dark side. They are dead last for me. It's between animals, obscured, meddle and saucerful. I'd say animals
All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.
