Hard to choose between "Skating Away" and "Only Solitaire", both of which I find delightful, but in the end "Skating Away" took the prize!
In second and third position: "Back Door Angels" and "Cold Wind to Valhalla" - probably Martin Barre and Barrie Barlow's finest ever moments!

Tough choice - went with "Skating Away..." for no other particular reason than I like it...

Pretty good selection. I'll go with "Wond'ring Aloud" - gorgeous.

Would've gone for Velvet Green, but, there are so many other top tunes in this list it is impossible to vote. I'm leaning towards Dark Ages somewhat though.

"cross eyed mary" - a perfect hard rock song, and there aren't many

I'm a bit surprised that Crosseyed Mary got so many votes.....compared to some of the other tracks on the list. IMHo there are better 'hard rock' tracks on Stand Up and Benefit.

hmm, I don't know "Stand Up". Nothing on Benefit is on this list is it? If it were, I might go with "With you there to help me" , or maybe "To Cry You a Song" - yeah in fact the latter is like the precursor to Cross Eyed Mary. "Nothing to Say" is practically a ballad, as are "Teacher" and "Sossity" and even "Inside" and "For Michael Collins...". Have I left any out?

I wouldn't call Nothing To Say a 'ballad' nor Teacher.....and there are several very good songs on Stand Up that have a blues rock edge to them with some hard rock overtones for sure. Crosseyed might be a bit rougher but it's not that great of a song imho.

Back-Door Angles. Very complex song specially instrumental part that have guitar solo plus perfect modulations.
