Heroes is a song written by David Bowie and Brian Eno in 1977. Produced by Bowie and Tony Visconti, Robert Fripp played lead guitar on this. Fripp later released his own version of Heroes. Which version do you prefer? Please also bear in mind the different time period each one was recorded.
In case you have not heard both versions, I have added a live performed by each on here below: David Bowie "Heroes" Belew '78 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_spMJawxvM vs King Crimson Heroes (King Crimson, Heroes. From the Heavy Construkction CD) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ostDrhElB2o |

There're Bowie concert versions, the German language version, really any of the Bowie ones. The KC one I thought (golly) that it needed a spot of rehearsal to get that magnificent sound it needs.
One of the most perfect recorded moments ever - kind of hard to improve on it. ;) |

Mister Bowie by a few miles!
It might be worth mentioning, The Wallflowers did a remake of this as well. So we have Bob Dylan's son doing a remake of a David Bowie song. Go figure . . . Edited by Mormegil - August 27 2015 at 08:06 |

Only come across Bowie's (and Peter Gabriel's). I'll listen to Fripp's version, but never been at all big on the song, compared to everyone else at least.

I will give equal points for Fripp's great guitar part, but it is Bowie himself who made the song great. So Bowie it is.

How about the Apocalyptica version, with Rammstein's singer on vocals? Then again, there's also a version played by the whole King Crimson live, which is the one I know best.

Bowie, hands down.
Been a lot of covers. There's the cover by the Wallflowers for the 1998 Godzillla movie. There's one from Glee (!?): Most unique is the one by Apocalyptica with the lead singer from Rammstein: And for you Game of Thrones fans, there's the TV on the Radio version used to promote the show: |

A friend of mine had a live version of Heroes back in the '80s featuring both guys. Great stuff, and I would have liked to see it included here for a more complete poll. With that out of the way, I'll can only go with Bowie as I don't believe I've ever heard the Fripp version (what album is it on?).

Oops, Kati. Didn't read your entire thread opener. Heavy Constukction, huh. Now I'll need to pick it up. Have you ever heard the live version single? Long out of print, but maybe it's out there somewhere on CD.
