As I've stated in my initial post, I can only take early Rush albums that feature Geddy's vocals in short durations. I do not have a problem with his vocals on later albums, but many, many other people do, so it's not just an anomaly.

Yes, all of our heroes are perfect. I forgot. What high school claptrap.

Hmm, not what I said at all.  Perhaps I should have been more clear, for your reading comprehension level, to wit, I see loads of criticism about pretty much every prog band on this site on a regular basis.  Didn't see much point in creating a threat to add even more to it.  But that's just me.  Carry on.

^Thanks for your input. I'd like to hear from you again in another year's time. I doubt I'll miss much in the interim.

Let me get this straight.......I can talk trash about "my idols"...... But I can't talk trash about you. Just want to know the rules in the world you live in. As one poster rightly pointed out we have enough negativity towards artists w/o creating stupid threads such as this one.

Some people just don't get it. If I took the opinion of every second rate muso seriously, I'd be a poor man. And brother, I'm not poor.

A note for the squimish. These discussions never move beyond someone's flat vocal on one paticular song, or a complaint about an overlong instrumental break. After listening to these comments for 40 years, I know how they go.

I think the thread title is a bit over the top , but considering all the silly threads here at PA recently , having one about what aspects you might not like about some of your favorite progsters is not out of line at all.
Speaking of this I have always had a problem with ELP ruining their albums  (imho) by inserting silly beer hall rock numbers in between the decent tracks.

There's nothing wrong with honest criticism but please do not be directly insulting of either forum members or band members.

I knew an insult, and that's no insult.

I have to admit that this back and forth gets tiring especially given the fact that I chuckle at a lot of Rednight's witty but less crude observations, and I like looking at Tim Leary's photos and appreciate his musical tastes. But, Se le vie seems to be the watchwords, unfortunately.

You are of course right Andy,  but there are a couple here who constantly do this and it's not Steve G btw.
I'm surprised they get away with it so often.

Shocked

Ditto have no problem from Permanent Waves onwards.  Not so much the shrieking on the albums before that.  On the other hand, I do agree with Jeffro about Peart.

Personally, I just complain about it but I love it so much as well. :)

Some of our most important literary works are the products of redactors. Like the Holy Bible.  Wink

A fellow who likes Steve Earle's music gets my vote.
