Well it is being being made on the cheap at volume and certainly know their market. Personally I'd prefer better actors, better plot, a bit more mystery.

Agreeing with what and/or whom? Of all the dumb questions that can be asked "How would you improve pornography?" is certainly up there with the worst of them and is a strong contender for being the dumbest question of all time. It sure is a "slow news day" in the world of Progressive Rock when a thread such as this attracts my attention when it appears on the "New Posts" page.
Precisely this. ...and finding willing partner for the purposes of mutual sexual gratification, thus negating the need for external stimulation.

Then, it wouldn't quite be porn, would it? I mean, can we really imagine Benedict Cumberband swapping treading the boards as Hamlet (darling) for a bit of rumpy pumpy with Madam Whiplash? Dean, as ever, is spot on. Damned silly question really. |

my thoughts exactly, Jim Not that I was ever an addict or even a regular consumer, but I've grown tired of it quite a while ago (I do sooo much better with my GF) but since we're at it: First, treat the women with respect, not just like dorkholes and dorkmouthes. For ex, I can't believe that todays young women are accepting to be "skull-f**ked" because they've seen it done in porn flicks and is now considered as a normal practice... I mean, "normal intercourse" at the bottom end of the body is normal.... but doing the same to your partner inside her head... puhlease!! some bloody respect. This goes with many other practices like slaps and other types of violences. A little romanticism (ala David Hamilton) would also be a great help |

...my first reaction to Hugues' post was 'What?!!! British radio DJ and TV personality "Diddy" David Hamilton made porno movies!!!'...
... so needless to say I hot-footed it to Google for more information and while that temporarily allayed my fears that yet another 1970s personality had fallen from grace in the most sordid way imaginable, this "other" David Hamilton, appears to have been a photographer who specialised in taking soft-focus semi-nude photographs of young girls that today would have him listed on a special register and electronically tagged to prevent him from being within 500 metres of anyone under the age of 21. Speaking as a longtime, uhm, connoisseur of porno, from magazines, to VHS, to DVD, to online streaming. the things the original poster is lamenting aren't the things most males care about in porn. When I was a young adult, I used it for mental masturbatory stimulation. As an older less shy and now married adult I occasionally use it for the same, but I much prefer sexual intimacy with my wife.
Penthouse, my favorite form of magazine porn as a young for at the time, and maybe still does, had Al Goldstein reviewing story oriented porn movies. I actually got a couple of VHS movies that he recommended, and they weren't all that bad. Not going to name those. One of the more interesting things that I have is a DVD of Bob Guccioni's Caligula. He attempted to make a serious movie that had explicit sex scenes. Most notable for actually attracting mainstream movie actresses and actors to the main characters. I have never found this movie stimulating in a masturbatory sense. Having said all of that totally honestly and openly, the abolition of porn is a ludicrous as the abolition of alcohol. Humans have been enjoying forms of it as long as we have gathered together in civilizations. On a final note, Frank Zappa did an explicit photo shoot for Thing Fish for Hustler magazine (the magazine was too raunchy for my tastes, a friend found it for sale). It is available on the internet. I am not going to post a link here, but if you are interested, it is easy to find. I found it funny. On a side note, few Zappa fans really like that album. As to the original question I can respond with a question - what is the difference between ignorance and apathy? Edited by Slartibartfast - August 29 2015 at 12:36 |

The only way to improve porn is to participate directly and not by proxy. Sex is not a spectator sport. So put away the videos or binoculars and get a date.

I never knew there was another David Hamilton, other than the erotic artiste... Shows you how guys from the same generations don't always share the same horizons, despite having some common musical interests Yeah, it's true that DH's erotic 70's movies and posters involved young girls that were probably not old enough for today's standards, but in those days of freedom, there was no such suspiscions, nor was it a tense subject as it is today. But DH's goals were mostly romantic, and his posters catered to many (and mainly to) women, who actually bought these posters and put them in their bedroom walls in their student accomodations. ========= Jim, I just saw your new sig!!! What a heartbreaker of a choice ... your musical porn or your pussy Edited by Sean Trane - August 29 2015 at 13:24 |

Abolition is one way to stop pushing more and more degeneracy on society.
While we are at it let's abolish TV |

Some thoughts for OP:
The average age people first watch porn these days is 11 years old.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24871202 http://yourbrainonporn.com/ http://roguehealthandfitness.com/pornography-addiction/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSF82AwSDiU ^usually TED talks are retarded, this one one of the small number worth actually seeing Not even getting into all the problems with the industry. |

This is so weird, last week I was thinking of starting a thread titled "Real Doll, important sex aide or creepy necrophilia?" More as a joke than anything else. But then this thread popped up. So looking at these pictures (not me pictured BTW), what's your take on this?
