The 'rockhitects' who have influenced many bands on the heavier side of the spectrum have a great diverse selection of music. What is your favored selection.

I love everything from '77 thru '82. Normally I give it to Hem, but Permanent Waves is so friggin classy, it gets my vote today. One of the few albums I'd call perfect.

The first 3 are my faves these days. After those, probably Perm Waves.

Always been one of my favorite bands, in fact the band that got me into prog. My favorites change depending on my mood, but I've been really enjoying A Farewell to Kings as of late. However, I have a feeling that will gets quite a few votes so I'll give some love to Caress of Steel.

I don't think this is about things getting votes, those are overall arbitrary in the general scheme but only to show what your favorite is. The amount of votes albums get over others doesn't make them superior/inferior.

^ Yeah votes should be true, besides it's way too early to start stuffing ballots

I'm not sure. It's between 2112, Moving Pictures, and Clockwork Angels. As a whole piece, I like Clockwork Angels best, but the songs in it might lack a bit in individuality and standing out. 2112 mainly has the title track, which is still the one I like to come back to the most, but the rest of the songs are either just good, or even boring. And in the middle stands Moving Pictures, with most of the songs being great, better than the Clockwork Angels ones, but with a few ones that stand a little lower. So, I guess I'll have to think about this.

I'm "in a synth tone" so my vote goes to Signals.

I'm not a fan of Rush, but that album has its moments

For me, I don't exactly have a favorite. Mostly my tastes in Rush comes from more songs than it does albums. Of course they're great, but I rarely find myself trawling through an entire album and instead tend to stick to a few songs per release. But they have ranged from Fly By Night from, you guessed it, to Afterimage from Grace.

I would say they were largely a young persons band, still true for their early stuff: If you aren't a fan by the time you're about 21, you probably never will be, and the band somehow made progrock exciting and immediate rather than some English guys and their turgid rock symphonies.
