Don't know if this has been brought up but Dave Mason (from Traffic) is having a large global tour playing Traffic songs he wrote. This means material from Dear Mr. Fantasy (1967), Traffic (1968), and Last Exit(1969).

Here is the information on the website:

Renowned for such Traffic hits “Feelin’ Alright” and “Hole In My Shoe” plus his solo signature tracks “We Just Disagree” and “Only You Know and I Know,” MASON is excited to perform the music of Traffic.  “I think that it is important to keep alive the legacy of four young men from the heartland of England and their contribution to contemporary music,” says MASON.  “And ‘Traffic Jam’--aside from the obvious material--will hopefully grow into the basis for other artists to participate. Keep the spirit alive!”

The “Traffic Jam” concerts will feature hits and deep album cuts from 1967’s Mr. Fantasy and 1968’s Traffic albums, additional Traffic jams, rare photos, stories from Dave plus new material and a selection of classic DAVE MASON music.

Wow, that's really interesting.
Just American gigs, I see.
Well, good for you, Americans!

that is really... really interesting.. and they are playing here at the Birchmere.  Would really be tempted to go to that.. if it wasn't on a weekday. arrgg

I think the reason why I hold Traffic's 2nd as I do (as their best album) is largely for the awesome Dave Mason songs in addition to the Winwood/Capaldi stuff.

My favorite...

I'd go see him if he came anywhere near Chicago, IL.
He's playing in Illinois but way away from Chicago.

I know I've reached old age and attained official  'fuddy duddy' status when weekday concerts are unilaterally dismissed...

LOL
I'll go to weekday ones if they are in my immediate area.....the Zombies are playing only 5 miles from my house in October and they are going to do the whole Odyssey and Oracle lp...so I'll probably go.

the sad thing is The Birchmeer is closer than that to us. LOL I guess that is the sad reality of a M-Th life.. work and then get home to prepare for the next days work. Thank god Dungen is playing here on a Saturday.. though for them I might have taken the next day off..  I'd hate to miss my chance to bag Reine only because I had to be at work the next morning.

I tell ya man.. retirement can NOT get here quick enough.

Some great stuff in his solo career...
Like the first album, Alone Together.
Some excellent songs on "It's Like You Never Left"...
Haven't tried out the Mason/mama Cass stuff yet though.

Saw him last year on the same type of tour - not bad.  He has a very tight professional four piece band and Mason has always had a self-depreciating sense of humor, which really works well with this type of "nostalgia" show.  Not a must-see by any stretch but a good rock 'n roll show.....and "NO" I wouldn't go on a weeknight unless it were in the pub across from my house.
I like to feel the suspense when you're certain you know I am there.....
