Topic: Jon Anderson Vs Ian Anderson! Posted: September 27 2015 at 14:02 |
Aside from having the same last name, these two prog gods are as different as chalk and cheese. Anyhoo, which do you prefer: Ian Anderson or Jon Anderson?

Jon Anderson's a great, if kinda limiting, singer. Ian Anderson's a superb guitarist, great singer, great lyricist, great songwriter. Stacked competition.

Have to go with both there. They are each great in their own special ways. I've been reading the band biography on Jethro Tull and it turns out that Ian has the same guitar playing technique that I use.

Both. It would be unfair to vote for one.

A more interesting poll would be: Which one would win in a fight?

And if you can't be with the prog you love, honey, love the prog you're with.

Yeah, I'm afraid that's true. Ian seems like the kind of guy that'd claw your eye out, though Jon could always fly away to safety on a magical unicorn.

Both, I think both singers fit perfectly in their respective bands. However, just going off of vocals alone, I prefer Ian.

Jon Anderson. I think his singing is much more special, and I like Yes songs more than Jethro Tull ones, in the general (still love both bands). Still, Ian takes special points for his wonderful flute playing, of course, as well as his guitar playing.
