Overview:
Independent group, formed in 2002, with Bruno Danton (guitar, cavaquinho, trompet and voice), Tomás Rosati (voice, percussion and clarinet), Eduardo Baker (baixo). After a few changes, musicians Pablo Barroso (guitar and voice) and Gustavo Loureiro (drums) joined the band, finally forming the El Efecto. I believe they deserve to be added to Progarchives for the group ecletic sound, being influenced by the folk tradition of northeastern brazilian region, as well as hard rock, hip hop and alternative rock (reminding some of the sound fusion Chico Sciense did in his hey day). The lyrics and the band's atitude often touch brazilian social issues both agressively and poetically. Discography: - Como qualquer outra coisa (2004) - Cidades das Almas Adormecidas (2008) - Novas Músicas Velhas Angústias (EP - 2010) - Pedras e Sonhos (2012) - A Cantiga é uma Arma (2014) - re-recorded songs in acoustic Oficial website (in portuguese). Two links above already permited to listen their two last albums on bandcamp and youtube, but all discography can be downloaded here. In case of them being added, I comit myself to write a more complete bio. So, I guess thats it, what you guys think? |

I think they fit well here in PA.
New band, new blood... that's what we need!

Are they being looked at...listened to? Definitely prog to my ears - pretty unique sounding prog too. Might be a toss up between Crossover and Eclectic rather than a cut-and-dried case though. Certainly a mixture of genres here, but whether it could be classed as Eclectic Prog overall I don't know. Need to find a home on here somewhere for them though, I feel.
