That early combination of the band was absolute magic to my ears, three incredibly subtle and restrained musicians that complimented Wilson beautifully.

For what I have heard, I also have liked better Maitland on Porcupine Tree over Harrison. Perhaps I haven't payed enough attention to the Harrison era of PT, and with Maitland I have only heard Coma Divine and Warzawa... but the thing is without having to pay attention, there have been more moments were I notice the drums on this live albums than on all the studio albums with Harrison.

I'd say no. I think Steven Wilson was wise enough to see the creativity well had run dry and decided to end it while the game was good. He will obviously continue with other projects but unless he can make a really great album that is worthy of being in the canon then i'd say leave well enough alone

Had Wilson proposed the Raven tracks, or even Hand..... tracks to Barbieri & Co. would the outcome have been as good ?? I think not !! He's better off sticking with Beggs and Minneman etc.

No need. For me his hi water mark is The Raven That Refused To Sing. No point in going backwards.

Genesis works for me...  it is my go-to group for my bouts of insomnia.

renuiting?  Pffff....they are dead and hopefully the corpse isn't reanimated for the sake of bilking fans of their hard earned jack. For what reason.. to get the same sh*t you can get on a SWilson solo album.

hey wait a miinute.... this isn't a prog forum... there are 100's of greats you all haven't bothered to check out. Bands that might appreciate.. and definitely use a bit of support. Instead you all pine for overrated and soporific group that barely classifies as prog.. much less progressive  pfff ... go figure...

I say we change the name of the site... from Prog Archives to SWilson fan heaven...LOLThumbs Up

Given the fact that a good deal of the set on his last solo tour in the UK was made up of PT songs I suspect the odds of a new PT album are much shorter than they were 12 months ago.  Seems like he may be itching for it, he's certainly not discounted it.  Personally, I was disappointed. I went to see a SW solo show, not the new album and a selection of PT songs.

Whilst I actually think The Incident was excellent, the last few PT albums as a whole can't hold a candle to his solo works.  I'd rather he keeps on flying solo.

Last interview I read Steven was not opposed to working on a new PT album.....His issue was he is not interested in being the sole music/lyric writer, he wants the other members to contribute most of the new material.
I do see a new PT album within the next few years, once he turns 4-1/2 into album 5.

I shouldn't be doing this, but I voted "Yes"... I know this will never happen, but it would be amazing to see them one more time.

You should vote yes.....I mean with how the music industry is going and the up and coming bands, especially prog genre, the ability to see these new bands will be minimal to zero because of cost. As fans we will have to travel to go see some of them. At least PT has the following to do some larger tours and hit several continents....for example I have no clue when or if I will ever see Haken or Riverside, unless I do that Cruise To the Edge or travel across the pond to some festival....A cost that is prohibitive to me.

Simply too expensive for bands to travel to EU/UK or USA and do like a 20-city tour....nobody buys that much physical music anymore, thanks to the world-wide-web.

At 16:48. I think that sums up the chances of a reunion for the next few years.
