It would be nice if they did get back together, but only if SW really wants it. I'm more than happy with his solo career at the moment. He's doing some of his best ever work right now, and it looks like he's really enjoying himself, doing what he wants to do.

Yeah, but I wouldn't want it to be forced. I don't like his solo stuff, but I'm content listening to past Porcupine Tree albums until they can make some great stuff again.

No. His solo output is by far more imaginative and fresh than the last couple of PT albums.

Wilson is in a very happy place artistically, and long may it continue.

I wavered between no and I don't care. I settled on no being more to the point.

Considering how SWilson's latest solo outing shows much atrophying, maybe getting the band back together is worth a shot.

If they got together, then I guess I would enjoy it. But I have liked the last 3 Wilson solo albums more than any album I have got from PT (except for Coma Divine), so I guess I would prefer him to continue solo... however, I'm not sure how long he can keep this pace, Hand Cannot Erase is already a step below The Raven, IMO.

I'm in the don't care camp. I saw him in an interview recently and he hasn't ruled it out.  So if it happens I'll get it off course.

If they can capture the same magic and intensity that they did in Tilburg - ABSOLUTELY!

I want Porcupine Tree and their respective members to do exactly what they feel like. That is how great music come about.

Anyway, I don't think there'd be too much of a difference between a new Swilson and a new PT album. The head honcho is still the same. He makes the kind of music he wants at any given time, which is the way it should be.
Sure I would love to hear Steven experiment a bit with his psychedelic roots, but that is not where he's heading judging by his latest releases.

and mine as well... and I don't even like his solo albums.  At least he was doing something different. Those last few PT albums sucked big time...

I love PT - have 15 of their releases on vinyl. However, I fall somewhere between option 3 and 4. Wilson is doing just fine as a 'solo' artist.
If PT does reform, they had better come up with something more substantial than The Incident (which I think is a 3 and a half star effort.....and falls just behind Hedgerow for me)

Yes I would love to see them reform, but that would be because I'd love to see Mr Wilson using Richard Barbieri, Colin Edwin and - yes - drummer Richard Maitland (over Gavin Harrison)'s skills again. That early combination of the band was absolute magic to my ears, three incredibly subtle and restrained musicians that complimented Wilson beautifully.

Bwahahah, I was writing that comment in between reports at work while also tackling a dreary phone call that was taking forever!

Good call, CHRIS Maitland!

I wouldn't really mind either way. Whether PT reunite again or not, they've already left their stamp on prog rock and rock music as a whole. I don't have a problem going back and revisiting their old albums and still looking for new things I didn't pick up on before (lots of replay value in general with those records). Plus, Wilson's Hand. Cannot. Erase. album was really good, so I'm definitely fine with him continuing his solo career

No! I don't think they will release something decent if they reunite! That's not sure of course!
