Theist, atheist or agnostic, does the life of Jesus of Nazareth mean something to you?

As im in a Philosphy and Kant binge for the moment in studying epistemology, this might be of interest here

All of these three thinkers--Immanuel Kant, Mohandas Gandhi, and Martin Luther King, Jr. emphasized respect for the individual. Kant did it through saying that people can rise above their self-interests, placing emphasis on freedom of individuals, and saying that all citizens should be treated equally and treated equally in their jobs. Gandhi emphasized love for everyone,

and that we are all spiritually connected. MLK Jr. said that everybody is equal and should be treated equally.

I'm not religulous but he apparently means more to me than he does to right wing X-tians who routinely ignore all the good things he allegedly taught and prefer to focus on parts of the old testament they can use to justify hating on some people...

Apollonius of Tyana shares the exact same story but doesn't get as much press.  Fact is, Jesus was just one of a ton of people wandering around claiming to be a messiah.

I know that Apollnoius shared the same death and resurrection story as Jesus along with healing miracles, but did he have a philosophy for loving one's neighbors as thyself?

You nailed it.......but I grew up as a Presbyterian and was taught to believe so Jesus definitely influenced the lives of many of us and still probably does in many ways we don't see.
I'm agnostic as of the last 30 years or so , but spiritual people like Jesus, Budddha, Lao Tzu, etc can teach us a great deal.
One does nothing yet nothing is left undone.

If he existed, he was a great man. My entire environment has been influenced in one way or another by him so he has had some type on influence in me I assume.

Also, my favorite works of music ever are in very strong ways connected to him (the two extreme images in my signature answers the question) so that's enough for me...

Jesus? Yeah, I know the dude. He's the doorman at my offices.

Well the first part of that book is not for children, it's violent and exciting, might just be the best fiction work ever wrote...

Then there is the second part, that yes might appeal to children, it's about a guy and 12 other guys talking about love, having fun and stuff... LOL
