Was 21st Century Schizoid Man a blueprint or was Money a derivative? That's the question.

Anyway, against my usual behaviour, I vote in favour of King Crimson here. The status of 21st Century Schizoid Man as a true prog classic cannot be denied.

"... Schizoid Man", hands down.

I think it was the excessive radioplay that ruined "Money" for me. But it's not like there was a time when I liked it anyway.

What a stupid question. Both great tracks but impossible to compare.

I apologize for stealing the KC vs PF poll in the beginning (Although I did credit the original poll in my thread) I didn't mean to cramp or crap on anybody.
Anyway, for me it's got to be King Crimson on this one!

This is one of the (very) rare times I vote positively for King Crimson. Money is overrated: the worst track on a superb album.

You have done it really!!! Well, I'm a Pink Floyd fan but I think that Money is the song less representative of the band even if it was a very huge success. Listened alone is very good, but I think it interrupts the mood of Dark Side. The same thing that Waterhole does to Marillion's "Misplaced Childhood".
21st Century, instead, is one of my all time favorite songs and I absolutely love Greg Lake's vocals.
Was it PF vs KC I would have voted PF with no hesitation, but in this poll my vote goes to the schizoid.
Curiosity killed a cat, Schroedinger only half.

I disagree. Money is exactly where it should be. It's the first song on the second side for a record, so it doesn't really interrupt anything. You're left with this beautiful voice from Gig in your head and then it's ruined but that was the point. Money is supposed to tear up all the nice things that we had felt and it did it perfectly. It gets my vote here.

Why are these two songs even being compared? What next, Close to the Edge Vs. Smoke on the Water? At least offer a comparison between two songs that are close in compositional style.

Schizoid Man for me, easily. Money isn't among the Pink Floyd songs I particularly like, even if I really love the band. Though I prefer later live versions of Schizoid Man with the guitars taking the lead instead of the sax.
