I also have to go `The Rock', one of the better Michael Bay flicks as well (by quite a long way!), a cool premise with tons of energy, was great fun as well. Certainly not as obnoxious and self-indulgent as the `f*ck-you' attitude of Bay's more recent Transformers sequels!

`Face/Off' is probably the better flick over `The Rock', but it's longer and a lot more involved so you can't rewatch it as often.

`Gone in Sixty Seconds' is awful! I rewatched it recently and it's pretty much devoid of action for impossibly long stretches.

Have to admit, one of my favourite of his from this period was the dark vigilante thriller `8MM', I'd love that to get a Bluray release.

I don't know Gone in 60 Seconds, but Face/Off is a great film, even if it is far from being my favourite John Woo film. Not only the action is outstanding, the plot turned out to be more intelligent than I expected. On the other hand, I was really disappointed with The Rock and Con Air, specially the latter.

Anyway, that was a very intense movie and I've also only watched it once.

Love Shue, so sexy, especially in Karate Kid -

I thought all four were rubbish, and not even entertaining rubbish at that.

Con Air even managed to keep Steve Buschemi from doing anything interesting - which must have been a real challenge because that man is incapable of being dull.  Or at least that is what I thought until I saw CA.

Only seen Face/Off of these, liked it. I'm not really an action film fan.

Cage has put out some very good ones and bad ones. I thought the Wings of Desire and Wicker Man remakes lamentable.

My favourite of his is Vampire's Kiss.

Yep, Christoffer, I enjoyed Adaptation. By the way, calling those remakes lamentable is too negative sounding -- just I was a big fan of the originals. His Wicker Man is fun.

First vote for Gone in 60 seconds but that is entirely Robert Duvall's doing (or Angelina Jolie - damn she was hot back then... that is before she stopped eating food).
My fave Nicolas Cage flick has to be Leaving Las Vegas (or Wild at Heart). He always plays the same part though - even when the character calls for something different.

it may sound strange to some, but I didn't see any of them. I am not into action movies at all. maybe due to gender; Friede does not like action movies either

The Rock by a country mile.

The other three are mediocre to average IMO

Where's Wild at Heart or Moonstruck (infinitely better than the four HBO repeat ad naseum flicks chosen for the poll....none of which I could sit all the way thru)?  Where's Raising Arizona (by far the best film featuring Cage) or Peggy Sue Got Married - both excellent comedies?  Where's the creepy Red Rock West?  Where's Adaptation and Joe - both strong recent entries into the Nick Cage filmography?

I like to feel the suspense when you're certain you know I am there.....
