ORDER OF THE LIVING is a new Finnish band, the debut album
Heartwards (Luova Records, 2015) came out recently. The tracks: Language Hive (8:08) - Heartwards (12:01) - Transformation (3:45) - Plateau (3:13) - Waltz Mirror (3:53) - Waltz for Staying Alive (6.05) - Above the Horizon (4:21).
The music is relatively calm (not rocking at all) but at times slightly disturbing, and always highly original. I'm uncertain about the best subgenre.
The general sound is a curious mixture of softly bubbling electronic, ghostly low-key vocals (there are also instrumentals) and acoustic instruments such as guitar, double bass, piano, trombone and trumpet. The band has performed Terry Riley's "C" and they certainly are influenced by minimalism.
