Three friends does it for me.

This shows how great interesting part of the Gentle Giant discography is, since the album never struck me as middle of the road.

All the other choices leave me flat relative to the prime offerings in the bands' discographies.

I've always thought there were two sides to G.G. fandom. The early and the late.  The earliests, like me, would put Three Friends up there with their best albums. For it was LOL

those that enjoyed and got off on their cold and souless complexity for complexities sake where they forgot about writing good memorable songs 2nd phase would and obviously have rated the album 'middle of the road'.  Likely there are more of the later than the former.

It's VDGG's World Record, but about eight of your selections don't fit the criteria, including Genesis' Puke.

For these I included every album listed under "studio albums" for each artist's progarchives discography with the exception of Camel, for which I omitted the 2013 re-recording of "The Snow Goose".

Out of this lot of albums, Duke easily gets it.

I've got a new appreciation of said album as of late.
