Topic: Dub Reggae Posted: January 25 2016 at 07:02 |
I just wondered if any other PA'ers were also into dub reggae (70s Jamaica-style) including artists such as King Tubby, Scientist, Yabby You, etc? Looking to expand recommendations.

I actually started a dub suggestion thread sometime last year. I didn't get to deep into it, though. Just King Tubby, Scientist, Lee "Scratch" Perry, and the big names, though I checked some others out.

Yeah, I thought there were some threads already. I only really know the big names from the '70s and '80s.

I did a search on the threads but didn't find anything (must be doing it wrong...) I find the sonic experimentation of these producers fascinating and very progressive for their time, albeit in a totally different musical milieu to that of prog. I first heard one of these sound systems at an Anti-Nazi league event in the late 70s and have been interested ever since!
