“So in Let It Bleed we can find every role the Stones have ever played for us — swaggering studs, evil demons, harem keepers and fast life riders… [the final track] is one of the most outrageous productions ever staged by a rock and roll band, and every note of it works to perfection.” – Greil Marcus, Rolling Stone

LOL yeah..but the moment was ruined.. like finding the hot chick you picked up has a dick bigger than yours

for seeing the SWilson it did NOT come ahead of. LOL  Talk about a cold shower to that instant of joy...

Highlighted just in case anyone was under the impression that contests on this forum aren't high-stakes affairs... LOL

I'm surprised that,
1. ELP didn't fare better (KE death not withstanding), and
2. There are so many same artists in the upper echelon

Was the list including all genres?
If so, it didn't seem to go that way even if the 29 were proggies.
I'm looking forward to the next one !

I haven't bothered to check the list myself mainly because I'm not around very much and rarely post.

On ELP it tends to be only the debut album that picks up a lot of votes in these polls mainly because it doesn't have a 'throwaway' track that all their other early albums have. However ELP made plenty of great tracks in that period of 1970-1974 so to me as a fan that is what I tend to focus on.

Albums that generally do well in these lists also tend to be very 'even' and musically going more in one direction. ELP tended to be a bit 'scatter gun' at times with ideas and that tends to lead to very uneven albums. Anyway I hope that goes a small way to addressing your point No1 if nothing else.

Just stopping in to say just how happy this whole thing made me. I know first hand just how much dedication it takes to tabulate and present everything, and this is top notch.

Well other than how much TAAB fell. But this warms my heart for real.

Way too much Beatles, Led Zep and Bowie in the list for my liking....

The only time I'd experienced similar dedication was on Scaruffi's website

^ The list spans from page 1 to page 6. No single post that includes all 400, unfortunately.
