Newton’s Cradle is an Italian Progressive Metal and Progressive Rock band formed in 2010 under the name of Weltchmerz by Nicholas Carpinato (Drums), Emanuele Battiato (Bass guitar), Davide Di Mauro (Electric guitar and back vocals), Nadia Orlando (Lead Vocals) and Enrico Puglisi (Keyboards). The band started covering Nightwish, Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd and Dream Theater songs in Nicholas’ rehearsal room called “The Cave”.
After two years of gigs and covers, Emanuele, Enrico and Davide felt like they wanted to do more than covering songs; they wanted their own songs. Therefore they decided to change target and name of the band: that’s when Newton’s Cradle’s adventure begins.

It didn’t work well amongst Nadia and the others so she decided to leave the band giving the way to the very first NC singer: Francesco Trombetta. Despite his powerful voice, he was not really what they were looking for: Francesco then leaves the band.

Newton’s Cradle decide to give a boost to their works taking on board Silvio Macri’ (Lyricist, Guitar player, Flute player and back vocals) and Andrea Filocamo (Singer). It was then that they finally completed all their songs and also started recording them! The new lineup work as fast as a steam locomotive; NC win a local musical contest - Musica Libera - and record their first song: Pain pt. 1.

During recordings, Andrea decides to leave the band for personal reasons but that didn’t stop their work: Silvia Di Mauro records her voice delivering an extraordinary result. In November 2015 they release their second song - Loneliness - song which shows their clear Progressive and Alternative influences.

Newton’s Cradle are now looking forward to release the whole first album - “Broken” - by the end of 2015.
