Inspired by Dennis' recent French flavoured poll I bring you this!
Looking round my collection for French albums I realised just how MANY different artists I had to chose from. I have a fair bit of albums left that I had to leave out simply due to lack of space. What a wonderful country!

I'll post these three buggers to start things off nicely:

“The Guide says there is an art to flying or rather a knack. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.”

Voting on Jean Cohen Solal. But I do enjoy A LOT Alan Stivell.

I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.

An apt quote for my choice, Jean-Claude Vannier's "L'enfant assassin des mouches" ("the child assassin of the flies"). Lots I love here, though.

Wow...I am pretty surprised to see the votes up until now. Gustavo went with Jean-Cohen SolalShockedLOL Great choice btw - I just didn't think anyone knew him here (apart from Greg (Logan) and John the mellotron).
Thomas voting for One Shot? Again...did not see that coming!

Stand By is in the lead but I did expect that. Still a fave of mine and one I keep returning to on a weekly basis.

Thanks for that link Pierre - I genuinely enjoyed that. Felt like a deep immersion into the ocean. One more for the list eh?

Seeing as John already mentioned Lard Free, I thought I'd post a tune of theirs together with a couple others I think are waaaay too obscure:

“The Guide says there is an art to flying or rather a knack. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.”

I cannot tell Jacques Clouseau from Jacques Cousteau here since I have not heard any of these.

And I like Triode very much as well. Actually I just saw that they were there... almost made me want to change the vote.LOL

But I do admit that the rest is unknow to me. Now I have homework.

Thanks Dave for exposing so many French bands I've never even heard before in a great poll!  Looks like I have a lot of listening to do Wink

A pretty excellent list.

I'm a sucker for mid period Art Zoyd, so berlin is my choice.

I have the temptation to vote for Stivell. His "E Dulenn" is an album that I've listened to a lot of times and the second track "Delivrance" is very good.
Curiosity killed a cat, Schroedinger only half.

I've only heard Heldon, Lard Free, and MGP......I barely have time (and the money) to listen and buy the more familiar things.
Where the hell do you guys get all the money to buy all these albums...? I'm a damn eye doctor and I can't afford them.
LOL
