I threw a vote in for Jowitt. You don't know he good he really is unless you see him live.

Hey, I like Pete's vocals - I should of said, " not just a singer with a great voice "........ Dee cooks on that live EJ performance from '70, almost fusiony at some points !!

Pekka Pohjola! Or of those listed, Martin Turner, mainly out of nostalgia for my days as a schoolboy Ash fan. I actually saw Martin Turner's version of Wishbone Ash live a few years ago. And they were...okay.

Oh God, of course it is. I've only got 8 albums by MME and I've been calling him Colin for 40+ years, then I have a senior moment when I wrote the poll. Confused him with Chris Slade. Doh!!

Of these I am only familiar with Martin Turner. Who in my opinion is one of the best bass/lead vocalists of the 70s.
He has just released a new album of new material (not old Wishbone Ash classics) called "Written In The Stars". I was very ambivalent to listening to it, let alone buying this album after so many years in the "wilderness" i.e. not releasing any new material since 1999's Walking The Reeperbahn. But I bought it and on listening to it, I have to say it is just an amazing record.
Truly Written In The Stars is the best set of tracks I have heard in a long while from any artist. Put it this way, I am a enormous fan of Andy Powell and buy all new Wishbone Ash releases but in my opinion Written In The Stars is better than anything Wishbone Ash has put out in the last 20 years. That is saying something because the 2002 Wishbone Ash album, Bona Fide is an absolute gem but Written In The Stars is even better than that...very proggy, very Wishbone Ash ...an essential purchase IMHO.
A few months ago Martin Turner was put forward to be put on PA in the prog-related category. What's happening, he's not on here? He should be on here; just for Written In The Stars...have a listen....it is a fantastic album.
