Amazing band, AXON-NEURON from Ohio just released 2 CD album 'Metamorphosis' on bandcamp. I've got my review ready to go--would even contribute their bio, if you'd like. 5-piece band plus orchestra and amazing vocalist AMANDA PARSONS. Leader/songwriter/10-string guitarist/producer/engineer Jeremey Poparad is a GENIUS!! These are youngsters--20-somethings--the future of prog!
https://axonneuron.bandcamp.com/ Please, please, PLEASE! Someone check them out! They are amazing! 'Metamorphosis' is Album of the Year material! Sincerely yours, Drew Fisher |

I would say that might work under "Heavy Prog" better to be honest. But holy hell you're totally right this band is awesome. Thanks for the suggestion!

Why has no one picked up this band--this album! I see that WINDHAWK posted a link to their last album, Dreamstate.
I know, I know, your busy. Still, I'm not gonna stop buggin' some of you--Eclectic. Heavy. Symphonic. This band belongs in PA! |

Agreed - this is one awesome band indeed. They might well be already under evaluation in Eclectic - 'cos I can't believe that no collabs (other than yourself) have picked up on this music. That team rarely post any comments in this forum, however - they might have simply taken it down into their secret hideout without telling any of us out here...But YOU can go and check! - You have four stars over your avatar, and can thus get past the fire-breathing dragon that guards the gate.
...And don't forget to leave a calling card if you don't find anything... DAVAST added them to progfreak just 10 days ago (but didn't assign a country to them or add any albums): http://progfreak.com/Axon-Neuron-166406.html. There is no PA tab, so Heavy Prog team haven't taken them on board as of yet...But yeah - I believe Eclectic is where they REALLY belong, since they blend progressive rock, metal, jazz, and classical music - and the current 6-piece band is augmented by a 21-piece orchestra on several tracks of their latest album. Edit: For any of you guys over there in Ohio, USA - Axon-Neuron are playing at the Musica concert venue & bar, housed in a refurbished brick warehouse in 51 East Market St, Akron, OH 44308 - THIS FRIDAY (in just over two days time) - with special guests District 97, progressive hard rock veterans from Detroit, Tiles, and Figurehead from Akron. What a friggin' gig THAT should be!!...And tickets are just 10 bucks for us old fogeys, and 12 bucks if you're under 21: https://www.facebook.com/events/1075637562475071/.

Funny you bumped this thread because only yesterday I got around checking this band. I've listened to about half of their latest album while doing something else actually, but from what I've heard it did sound quite diverse so I guess eclectic is the right place from them. I'll check it out again soon but you'll have to be patient since the team has so many bands on the chart.

Sounds like a prog take on Alanis Morisette
But yes they definitely deserve to be here. |

It's early here, I may just be morning mad and haven't yet switched on the ears. I def thought I heard some Alanis creeping through....and after my first relationship I can't stand anything remotely close to that camp (yeah blame it on the chick right...)

Listen to "Prelude I," "Postlude I," "Prelude II," and "Postlude II"--I don't think you'll hear any Alanis Morissette in there. Then maybe you'll also get over any odd AM associations in the rest of this amazing music.

Damn that was an early morning! The Alanis factor has definitely stepped down a notch - you're right. Not too keen on the band though, but it is most certainly prog and deserves to be here.
