Hermann Szobel has released only one lp in 76, titled szobel

would fit in the jazz fusion ou RIO subgenres i think
reminds me a lot of zappa with the percussions

I'm not sure if you have read this thing yet but it is a pretty good guide to making new band suggestions: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=96630

Anyway great suggestion. To be completely honest with you I was under the impression that Szobel was here. Quite surprised to learn that he isn't. I'll be sure to swing this by the ZART team ( the ZART team handles all Z: Zeuhl, A: Avant and R: RIO suggestions).
