^ I wish I could have seen it (don't get the channels that have hockey now except NBC which only seems to show a game or two on the weekend) Censored. I did listen to it on my streaming radio beside the bed, but fell asleep Cry.

but my heart definitely is with the Capitals on this one.  Longtime fan.. as long as I have been living out here. I will party like it is 1999 if they ever do win it. I fully expect to be arrested for overturning and torching a few cars in Old Town, starting with bosses (a Pittsburgh native) Porsche if we actually did win finally the Cup

Let the games begin!  I wish I shared the confidence others have shown in the Pens in here, my gut feels like its the Caps time...  During the Caps/Pens battle I won't be responsible for calling Ovechkin a few Censored metaphors.  Speaking of something similar, I remember being at a Caps vs Hurricanes game in Mayberry RFD and someone held up a sign that said "Cook the OvenChicken", nearly spit out my overpriced brew..LOL

I used to live in Pittsburgh (how I became Pens and Steeler fan) and don't remember anyone driving a Porsche, only pickups and other rusted out junkers from all the road salt...if someone did have one it was probably overturned and torched because it did not fit the city's blue collar image LOL.

Lets go PENS!  Game 1 tonight.

Conference final round guesses:
Sharks vs Blues
Islanders vs Pens (going with heart more than gut)

way to go Predators.. took my long shot prediction to come to pass to prevent me from missing all the west picks.

Already started I know but my not too late predictions.

Islanders over the Rays in 5. Still scratching my head that the Rays kicked the Tigers asses so handily in the first round. Islanders appear dialed in and Taveras is a beast.

Capitals over Penguins in 6. Agree with some of the experts.. Philly was a much tougher opponent and actually showed up and fought hard unlike the Rangers.  Prepared to have my heart broken again..there is and always will be the history between these two teams and the Caps history to find creative ways to lose series they have in hand... but the Captials are the better team. this year. Bigger, faster, deeper, and perhaps most important.. hungrier.

in the west.

Blues over the Cowboys in 5.  Not exactly impressed with the Blues..  destroyed by the Caps on their own ice with everything, the division title, to play for.  I think the west is weak and living on past recent history.  However the Cowboys are lucky to have escaped the first round with the North Stars. The Blues expose them for having an average at best defense.

Predators over the Sharks in 6

Every year we get a surprise team. I thought it might be the North Stars but the Predators are built, with an emphasis on defense to run deep into the playoffs and seem to be getting hot at the right time.

They should just let the Caps and Pens play the best of 21, although I don't think my heart could take it LOL.  Their games just seem to take it to another level.  Still a shame this is not the conference final.

bah...  to my eyes. The caps are damn lucky to have split the first two. Pittsburgh carried the action and looked the better team during the first 2 here...with exception of the wild card.  The netminder. Holtby is a beast.

It would be poetic justice to have the Caps steal a series based on actually having the best goaltender in the NHL rather than being the better team that always gets caught when the opposing goalie makes a career highlight of stonewalling the Caps and stealing the series.

That said.. I'll be really curious to see if the change in enviroment, playing in Pittsburgh, loosens up the Caps and they come out much more aggressively and active than they did in the first two.

Sharks shouldn't even have to go to a game 7, but oh well.  Just hoping they can get the win at home!

^ That's not exactly what they've been known for this year. Tongue

Also disappointed by the blues performance tonight. Chance to seal it up at home and give up three goals before the seats are warm.

Sorry Mickey, heartbreak again it seems.  I did not see the game, just saw the score...another OT.  What was that 3 of the 6 games went into OT?

Wonder if the Pens will go into their after Caps slump against the rested Lightning?  I don't know much about their team other than watching a game or two in the playoffs.

Lets go Pens!

I know it would be easy to make fun of the caps for exiting in the second round, yet again, but really...the pens are the best team in the league. Even Murray, who was a huge question mark, has been playing out of his mind. Not that this makes it easier for Caps fans of course...

I expect them to dispatch the bolts rather easily. I'll say Pens in 5.

Heart I saw this coming after the first two games.  It was tight but at least to me there really was no doubt who the better team was. The Caps didn't cash on the opportunities since they were generally outplayed.. those chances were all the more vital.

Clap the better team won..

for once LOL Those other years we did choke it away.. not this year.

now go and win it all Thumbs Up
