I've decided to switch things up a little. Instead of just taking the top result from each of the 5 semi-final polls in the best album art series and making a poll out of those, I figured that it would be a little more interesting to do something a little different. So instead, I'll be taking the 10 albums from the semi-finals that received the largest popular votes (percentage) and I task all of you with ranking them. For those who have taken part in any of the best albums of all time series, this will basically operate the same way.

The ten albums that received the highest percentage popular votes in the semi-finals were:

Yes - Relayer

Tangerine Dream - Stratosfear

Pink Floyd - Animals

Gryphon - Red Queen To Gryphon 3

King Crimson - In The Court of The Crimson King

Asia - Alpha

Anthony Phillips - The Geese And The Ghost

Miles Davis - Bitches Brew

Nektar - A Tab In The Ocean

King Crimson - In The Wake of Poseidon

Your task is to rank these ten albums from favourite to least favourite (no ties allowed). As well, you are allowed to add up to 5 "honourable mention" albums that can be situated anywhere in your list. Make sure to highlight these additional albums by putting them in bold, just so I don't miss them when I'm compiling the results. The honourable mention albums can be any 5 prog/related album covers of your choice, whether it is those that haven't been included in past polls or those that have been included, including semi-finalists. For example, a submitted list could look like:
  1. Anthony Phillips - The Geese And The Ghost
  2. Miles Davis - Bitches Brew
  3. Dust - Hard Attack
  4. Nektar - A Tab In The Ocean
  5. King Crimson - In The Wake of Poseidon
  6. PFM - Per Un Amico
  7. Asia - Alpha
  8. King Crimson - In The Court of The Crimson King
  9. ELP - Tarkus
  10. Yes - Fragile
  11. Yes - Relayer
  12. Pink Floyd - Animals
  13. Tangerine Dream - Stratosfear
  14. Nuova Idea - Clowns
  15. Gryphon - Red Queen To Gryphon 3
The five highlighted ones are just examples; you can pick whatever albums you want for your own honourable mentions. If you omit any of the 10 finalist albums from your list, I will rank them as though you ranked them 15th. Once you have your list completed, either post it in this thread or send it to me via private message. I'll be accepting lists up until the final deadline of May 8.

Just so you know, you're free to pick any 5 prog/related album covers for the honourable mentions. The 5 I included were just examples.

well now you tell me!  LOL Oh wait.... nevermind...

I'll resubmit my vote a bit later since I have made an ass of myself picking on others tastes... I'll be man enough to take them in return.. but need a bit to put my my foot art critiquing skills forward to face any assault.

trust me though.. they'll be world's better than those 10 hah. LOL

^ Clapyeah... an Album art poll.. much less finals is suspect and flawed without Tales... it smokes all out the top 10 posted here.

It should make my final 5... but not a given.. it is the best of the mainstream artists album covers.. but man there is a world of great covers that are works of art in themselves.

one of reasons the smart kids call that album the greatest prog album ever released... not just the for the music.. but the cover. Man that is something...

I've been running through my list of 5.. man that is going to be hard... not picking 5.. I've already come up with a list of 20 or so I'd consider more artistic, both in aestetics, progginess (haha.. yes I LOATHE that word.. but I digress) so call it intellectual appeal, and pure artistic showmanship.

In fact.... let's have some fun here.  Let's see if anyone has a working brain here.

So welcome to Professor Mick's class on Prog Rock Album Cover Art 101.

boys and girls... I am your instructor Professor Mick.. your assignment today.  I want opinions on this album cover.  More specifically... I want to hear from anyone who has NOT heard this album. I blanked out the name to protect the ignorant and cheaters.... it is about the art.. not the damn band.

when you see this cover.... what are your first thoughts... what does the album cover say to you...

for the many who do know this album.... it is not a perfect artistic rendering of what this album was musically.

let the discussion commence... hopefully we have more than parrots here just reciting their favorite English albums and artists...

Well there we go then Prof. Dr. Mick

I don't know this album, but honestly I don't love it. Atrabilious art is never really my thing, makes me think about the Grim Reaper... I'd like it better without him(/it).
