There are six on here that I rate fairly closely in Eloy, Octupus, Carpe Diem, Finnforest, Brand X and Goblin. Going with Brand X if only for Phil Collins drum work.

I voted for Druid - the first prog band I ever saw live back in 76! I had a Fluid Druid sticker on my record player - isn't that interesting?

I still have a Fluid Druid concert poster in my music room. Been with me through countless house moves, but every time it is carefully folded and transported. I also have a Horslips poster (The Tain) from 1974 and my pride and joy, a Camel poster from the Snow Goose tour.
Memories of amazing university days. |
Good to see some Druid fans here. Very underrated band, IMO.

Funny, this list lacks the very finest from 1976
So I will not vote. But I prefer "Roller" over the rest. I havenīt heard Druid, and that makes it the most interesting of them all. I will give it a try someday...

You may see a smile on Tony Banksī face but thatīs unlikely.

Budgie are prog-related here on PA, very good band if you ask me. As for Doobie Brothers, sure, not prog, but their 1976 album Takin' It to the streets, it's a favorite, that's why it got mentioned.

Really funny. Streets is regressive due to the new kid, he turned Doobies to souly-bouly entertain music .
But they were hard rocking and quite progressive a few years earlier, like "What Once Were Vices Are Now Habits" (grin). I still have and just love that album, after all those decades. The finest they ever recorded.

regressive it's not, the ones after are less interesting, but still listenable. Streets is very catchy and enjoyable, always puts a smile on my face.
