Jigsaw by the Nick Beggs fronted New-Wave band KAJA. Such a dynamic song that’s been spinning in my head all day - now I spin the LP and this song plainly kicks ass. It’s not Prog, it’s not Slayer, but I still love it

There’s a new Dr Demento release out, with punk covers of classic songs from his show. Great idea. This is the Japanese girl punk band Shonen Knife doing Weird Al’s “Eat It”. I was struck by how they deconstructed the riff (even making it like Smoke on the Water) to make it deceptively simple. Just a very inspired arrangement. I was moved.

Mondays are rough.. especially rainy Mondays... so I had to encourage the crew to try to keep up the old man who even though had 50 pounds of tool strapped to his belt (why I still have killer legs and a drop dead ass even pushing 50) was running circles around kids half my age for 8 hours
so to encourage them.. dialed this one up on the player... it worked sort of.. it knocked the Monday lethgarics right out of them and they were almost able to keep up though one, of course the youngest said... I never figured you for a Beastie Boys fan... pffff... kids. |
