Any specific brand and variety you especially love?

I love me some dark roasts, especially when the coffee gets that earthy/chocolaty flavor.

MAX!  Nice to see you in a casual thread....I'll have to look for that KickAss variety.

I drink a lot of Peets varieties, from San Fran

Dark. If you want to drink strained coffee water, why even bother? It's like people who drink light beer. I don't understand the concept.

Some feel the fruity and floral notes are present in lighter roasts and that the dark roasts lack of subtlety kills that.

I'm with you though, on beer and coffee.

I prefer dark roast. The best coffe I drank was from a brand called italcaffé, many years ago. I only drank it once butI'm curious to try it again and see what I would think of it today. I use a french press, so I use coffe beans, cheap ones but not the cheapest.

By the way I have to recommend this fun clip:

Two espresso shots over ice.  Every day.

Love it, thanks!   I like Conan because he's funny without the exhausting homogeneous politics.

Love my coffee but I'm no connoisseur that's for sure. Can't stand Starbucks or specialty coffee. Give me a McDonalds or Tim Hortons double double and I'm good. Working man coffee. My daughter owns a Tim Hortons which is pretty convenient I must say.

Dark, typically don't care what brand as long as it is of decent quality.  I used to specialize in bad Pa. Turnpike coffee years ago when traveling a lot.  Oh those machines with the poker cups were the worst. LOL

Loved the Conan bit!

I'm probably not a good judge.. I've been fired by my office from EVER making Coffee again in the morning.  I had the whole office bouncing off the walls the last time I did. They finally figured out I dumped half a can of grounds into the machine to make my pot.

The only thing I care about with my coffee... can you walk across the surface of it.

Strong man... strong coffee is needed for Mick in the morn...

The strength of a brew does not necessarily correlate with the darkness of the roast.  I've had insipid dark roasts and very rich and viscous lighter roasts.  Different strokes for different folks, but give me a thick and rich medium brew made by a local roaster over an overrated Starbuck's type coffee any day.

Espresso/Americano or french press, taken black.   Thumbs Up
More heavy prog, please!

I heard of a place that makes its icecubes from espresso and uses it for iced drinks.  Neat idea but as an espresso lover I'd fear it would change the flavor too much.
