Hmmmm, let's go `Ummagumma', it ticks so many boxes - experimental, psychedelic, avant-garde, krautrock, folk/acid-folk, maybe even musique-concrete in a few little parts....
I'm sure there's more I'm missing too!

Now, we need to know if the original poster meant `their most truly progressive' or `most proggy', which is two completely different things! Hmmm, I think this site is long overdue for another `But What is Prog?' debate again!

Atom Heart Mother for me. I feel that the title track was the only time that they managed to get past loose psychedelic jamming and create something orchestrated and cohesive, without keeping it too poppy, as with Dark Side.

It's probably Ummagumma, by default. That said, I'd sooner listen to Meddle, anyday!

'Echoes' and 'Atom Heart Mother' are the only progressive songs in my opinion. I chose 'Animals' because it seems more interesting as an overall progressive album than most of the others, my second choice would have been 'TDSotM'.

Atom Heart Mother and Echoes both make the albums essentially. But those songs are progressive as hell. Animals as a whole is progressive, as is Dark Side and you could even argue The Wall to be honest.

hard one ... stylistic shotgun blast of Ummagumma or the nuclear explosion of Piper.
since Piper sucks.. no matter how groundbreaking or progeressive it was...
Ummagumma gets it. One of my favorite old school killing brain cells albums...
