Om is pretty damn fantastic.
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive

That Midlake album is an interesting one, particularly the first half.  Nice twist on folk-rock, maybe call it "texas soft-folk/psych"???  Roscoe, Young Bride, Bandits....love the strong bass lines on Roscoe and the harmonies throughout.

Yep, Tim Smith was a genius but I happen to like the band's stuff better since his departure. It's as if they are all now equally allowed to shine instead of playing in his shadows--as the 'Tim Smith support band' if yo will. Occupanther was their pinnacle together, Courage of Others was the Tim Smith solo show and the band's unraveling. (In my opinion. I don't actually know any of the band's interpersonal dynamics.)

Antiphon is by far and away my favorite album from them, though.

You've got me, John! I can tell it's been a while since I revised and updated my lists cuz ONE SHOT, 00100, ANTIQUE SEEKING NUNS would definitely  be on my lists if I had. More work and studying to do! Thanks, man!

Awesome list, Ian! more undiscovered territory as well as a few more reminders of some beauties I'd somehow left out (ONE SHOT, ANTIQUE SEEKING NUNS, PANZERPAPPA, YUGEN, DIABLO SWING ORCHESTRA).

-Khatsaturjan-Aramed Forces of Simantipak
-Taproban-Posidonian Fields
-The Dear Hunter-Act I: The Lake South, The River North

Of the six albums ive heard from ur voting  list OM is outstanding, followed by Magyar Posse.
If Russian Circles were included in the voting list,it wud have been very difficult to vote.
