Topic: Best Albums Of 20 Fave Prog Artists Posted: July 24 2016 at 12:00 |
I have amassed a list of my favourite albums of my Top 20 Prog Artists. From this list, what is your favourite album? Not asking if you agree it is a best album by the band, just your best pick from my list. My choice is Triumvirat's Illusions On A Double Dimple. As many of you know, it is my favourite prog album of all time, by any group. It is the record that got me into prog, and for me is the definitive example of great technique, real gutsy emotion, and a unique "vibe" to it all. What is your fave from this list?

I had to vote for Argus because
1. I haven't heard any of the others 2. It's my all time favourite album by any band

Really a great list!!
I choose Gentle Giant, followed by Triumvirat, Eloy, Wishbone Ash and Passport in that order

Its between Terje Rypdal and Dedalus and I have to think a bit first - or maybe relisten.

Argus is utterly perfect for me.
Having said that, Free Hand is marvellous, as is Solution's Divergence (anyone know where I can get a good vinyl copy?)
Colosseum, Budgie and Atomic Rooster are also very good.

Some good albums but GG - Free Hand without a doubt. That album is a perfect 5*, absolutely love it.

The Gentle Giant, Eloy, and Budgie albums are all great. Would vote GG, but decided to give Budgie some love as they had no votes.

Nice to see that Gentle Giant is regaining their 'lettre de noblesse' on this site.
