Discipline I guess, tomorrow might be UK. I like both, and depending on the mood I am, I could choose either.

Discipline. However if it was Danger Money rather than the debut, it'd be a much harder decision.

I have never been a huge fan of KC.  They have their moments but Discipline was certainly not one of them.  On the other hand, UK's debut is a classic and easily gets my vote.  I'm surprised this poll is close, I would have expected Discipline to run away with it.

Don't understand the love in this forum for Discipline; a rather sterile affair for the most part. At least UK 1 had some guts to it. And why hasn't Alaska been used in a foreboding segment of some great film yet?

UK, both albums by them are excellent imho........I'm a fan of KC but Discipline just doesn't do it for me....but then I never have really cared that much for Belew's playing or singing.

I wonder how senior a member I have to be, before I can vote in polls? Hmmm.

Anyhow , I would vote for "Discipline" if I could.

Once you have 40 posts ("forum groupie"), you're eligible to vote in polls.

UK is a good album.  Discipline is a masterpiece.

(Do you need to get a certain amount of "points" before you can vote in polls, by the way?--Oops, I see this was answered immediately above my post.  One more to go.)

Discipline is more my thing---interesting new direction for a prog band at just the right time---going from totally British sound to a more NYC sound---never really loved UK----only Bruford project that was like just ok for me.

UK a centimeter over Discipline, which was not King Crimson's greatest album, but both are fantastic albums of their own. Quite hard to compare.

[QUOTE=twosteves]---interesting new direction for a prog band at just the right time---going from totally British sound to a more NYC sound---/QUOTE] Okay, I'm game. Define why it was the right time as well as what the "NYC sound" is.

The one with Bruford... er...
Ok. Discipline for it's amazing future look while the UK is sort of like among the last of that era of symphonic prog rock.

3 stars both. No real preference overall, although 'In the dead of Night' for me is better than anything on Discipline.
