Steve: Is that a bit of a Beach Boys trip you're on? I rarely if only spin their records when females are about.
Love that Madness album. Been too long.

Michael: I've been on about that Can album for years as I honestly feel it gets overshadowed by its predecessors...all because why? Damo left. I think it's unfair, because it is such a brilliant album. The calypso funk of Jaki takes on new heights on this baby, that's for damn sure. It's got this cradling hypnotic groove to it. The definitive trip to the beach with effervescent swag and pure psychedelic calypsofeels.

Me today:
Embryo - Rocksession
Ariel Pink - Dedicated to Bobby Jameson
Trojan Horse - The Fukushima Surfer Boys
Schnauser - Irritant
Simple Minds - New Gold Dream
Mac DeMarco - My Old Man
Jeremy Flower - The Real Me (Have you heard this one Steve? Same goes for Schnauser and Trojan Horse actually)

I finally got into the Beach Boys a couple of years ago. I listen to them fairly often now. I like their early 70s stuff the most, when Carl and Dennis were at their peak.

Madness has always been a favorite. Top 10 band for me, all genres.

I got to see him on his current tour, and bought some LPs from him and had him sign one of them. I’ve been a pretty vocal fan of his for a while now, frequenting a small fan site under the name RareGoat. So when one of his recent singles had a b-side entitled “Ode to the Goat (Thank You)”, I couldn’t help but think it’s dedicated to me. A mutual acquaintance of me and Ariel doesn’t think it’s too far fetched, either. How about that. A goofy little b-side in my honor.

That's so cool. I am a little jealous here. Most musicians I know are either into psych, hardcore or jazz. I'd love to hang out with mr coolio himself and furthermore have him write me an ode. Maybe you should return the favour? Just remember those bassoons.
