Did you enjoy that one, Sam?

Hope everyone is well. Been out of action in hospital for a little bit, so here's a few before and after titles:
I liked it although I think they could have used more instruments to fill some voids and keep it more interesting. Maybe Progenesi set the bar really high on modern instrumental RPI? :P

It's good to see you're back and well :)

Last two days:
Riverside - Shrine of New Generation Slaves
Dungen - Allas Sak
Redshift - Ether(Awesome album! Too bad the CD is really overpriced.)
Salada de Frutas - Crime Perfeito

He assured me I’d love it

Arhh nuts and here I was thinking I could spend the rest of the day chit chatting over PA...but my little autist friend has just woken and he’s already starting to sound like a combination of a gorilla and a fat woman in the shower. Later

Same has happen to me often, I mean many friends thought they know my taste and recommend me something that I have found just uninteresting. But today anybody very rare ask, what I have liked some album that was recommended, so haven´t got any bad situations.
Really great I have one friend who has recommend me some really great artists, for example Trumans Water & Melt Banana.

So your job is some kind of nursing?

Yeah it's a pain in the derriere.

Nursing? Well I guess you're not that far off...more like a pedagogue though.

Ok. I believe I am quite far off in many things...

You and me both. Some times life is far more interesting this way.
Yep, youre right! Uncertainity makes this life much more interesting.

Btw love those last two titles from before your hospital stay. Listened to Warm Spaced Blue on repeat here the other day. My little Cowon player just repeats the album if I don't pick another heh...and it's got something like a 100 hours battery life. One can listen to an album many a-times Anyway it just struck me how powerful their sound has become much thanks to those incredible drums (Holy feaces!). I think I span the album thrice. Great friday evening.

Speaking of drums...Italian Luxury Style ain't too shabby in that regard either. My fave on the album is without a doubt the second track. The shimmying scat vocals, the tricky and infinitely nimble drumming, the feline bass and then those prancing keys - I lap it up like a labrador licking a dirty saucepan.

Hey Dave, good to hear from you, and to see you back in action around here. Urgh, been having trouble with a kidney stone...been about six years since they last plagued me - GOOD TIMES! I spent two days in hospital this time....honestly, it was kind of nice just having nothing to do or no responsibilities but just lie there dopped up on morphine and relax. I've been back at work since, but I'm still not rid of it, quite uncomfortable. But the blistering pain that attacks when it first hits is gone for now. Any day now hopefully.

Oh yeah, man, great titles those two. If you liked `Warm Spaced Blue', you'd probably dig the recent Quarto Vuoto `Illusioni' album, it's quite similar in parts.

Ouch that sounds really painful
Good to hear you're on the road to recovery. Better wait a little while before you start tackling the old salsa moves though.
Nothing to do but trip away on morphine? Sounds like a day in the life of Keith Richards

Haven't heard about Quarto Vuoto before. Thanks for the heads up!

I know what you mean...I think it's a superb first effort, but how funny you mentioned that Progenesi one, because there was a time in the final paragraph of my review that I was trying to kind of compare it to their album...but I just couldn't get it right, and I honestly still thought it wasn't quite as knockout as that disc.

Back, yes, if not entirely well, but getting there!

******

Anyway, just a few last night, nothing too wild...

The Beatles – With the Beatles
Queen – News of the World
Yes – Progeny: Set 2: 1st November 1972 – Ottawa, Ontario (disc one)
Pink Floyd – A Momentary Lapse of Reason
Tangerine Dream – Tangram
Alio Die – Kalisz Concert

Don't worry, mate, I do not own it either.
I'm hopelessly waiting for a cd re-release of the original Epsilon since a good 15 years so I'm sticking to my old illegal download. I do own the 2005 reworked version but it is a disappointing listen for me compared to the 1975 version: A slightly more menacing and darker digital-sounding (urgh!) work, the calm 'lost paradise' appeasing feeling of the original now gone. If you find a couple used copies somewhere, let me know (haha!). Have a good recovery.

^ Sounds like a good day, Barbu. I listened to Out of the Tunnel's Mouth yesterday and it surprised me how good and progressive it was.

Very good day indeed, my friend. What a brilliant career, it still amazes me how consistently strong and progressive his records are...out of these Wolflight might be my favorite but they're all excellent for sure. Unwrapping the Night Siren right now, the listening will be played quite loud and with some beer from now on.

Have you heard Steve's 'Blues with a Feeling'? Not prog but one hell of a record.

Have a nice weekend.

Nice selection but the real question still remains: what else did you hear non-album-wise?
I'm hoping for a crooning panda at work.

This morning:
Cromagnon - Orgasm
Semiramis - Dedicato a Frazz
AMM - AMMmusic
Area - Arbeit Macht Frei

Funny you should ask. I keep track of my shuffle playlist, which I listen to when I go for a run. So here’s what happened there:

Led Zeppelin | Tea for One
Fleetwood Mac | I’m So Afraid
Vyto B | Tricentennial 2076
Led Zeppelin | Poor Tom
Jonathan Richman | (She’s Gonna) Respect Me
Fleetwood Mac | Station Man
Moody Blues | A Simple Game
Violent Femmes | Blister in the Sun
Quickspace | They Shoot Horse Don’t They
Beach Boys | Sail On, Sailor
Earth and Fire | Song of the Marching Children (single version)
Moody Blues | Nights in White Satin
TPoH | Consciousness Raising as a Social Tool
Monks of Doom | In Anticipation of the Pope

Great selections this morning btw. I listen to that AMM album more and more as the years pass.
