Nice.  That early Joni  stuff is so mesmerizing, her range and unique delivery.  I love Clouds too.

I get to listen to music at work all day, so during the week, I have a mix of things coming my way.  Some days I feel like listening to whole albums, though, today was one of those days.  I decided to listen to a few  of my favourite Strawbs/related recordings.

Strawbs - From The Witchwood
Strawbs - Grave New World
Strawbs - Ghosts
David Cousins - Two Weeks Last Summer

can’t believe I only discovered her a couple of years ago. Her voice and music just have a magical effect on me. I think she’s the long lost cool aunt I never had.

I listened to Triumph all the time in the early 80s. A good auxilliary band for Rush fanatics to discover.

Ah yes the true beauty of prog coming full circle.  Multiple spins to gain sheer amazement and appreciation. Smile

Blu ray...a live video from that tour?

I saw the Clutching at Straws  tour and I recall Fish was in a very foul mood. Some friends and I were nicely lit up for that show and expecting big things. The band did a super job and I'll leave it at that.  LOL   But that is a great album, so you picked a nice christmas gift there!

I saw the Misplaced Childhood tour as well, on that one they opened for Rush.

I saw them sometime after Clutching at Straws, and was surprised to discover Fish wasn’t the singer anymore. Still a good show though.

^^
Forgot to mention...when they opened for Rush.  The Rush crowd were not super welcoming to Fish and Co.  Lots of people looking fairly bored and checking their watches. They were polite enough to give them a modest applause at the conclusion, but nothing like the roar they gave Rush.

I actually enjoyed the Marillion's material more than much of Rush's PW setlist.

Procol Harum | Exotic Birds and Fruit
Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti | House Arrest
Oregon | Out of the Woods
Oregon | Roots in the Sky
Spirit | Spirit of ‘76
Steely Dan | Countdown to Ecstasy
Procol Harum | Live in Concert with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra
Propaganda | 1234
Rare Goat | Cul-de-Sac
Frank Zappa | Apostrophe’

Cul de Sac was my band Rare Goat’s first album, from 2007 when we were a trio that played offbeat covers. It was recorded live at a neighborhood block party with young children playing in the street. In retrospect, our set was pretty tasteless considering the audience. We just didn’t care, I guess. The Zappa cover of Wonderful Wino probably wouldn’t pass muster today .
