Yesterday:
Paul Simon - Graceland (New album of mine and I had no idea I knew over half of the music. This has been a brilliant trip down memory lane. Love the melodies, instrumentation and African touch)
Norman Connors - Dance Of Magic (Psychedelic jazz with a wonderful rhythmic force to it)
Can - Landed (I discovered this a little late..and currently making up for it. Really love the longer cuts on this sucker)
Haikara - s/t (Finnish fusion a la Zappa and Canterbury. Beautiful stork)
Cocteau Twins - Victorialand (Glacial siren songs)
The Future Sound Of London - Lifeforms (Yes!!!!!)
The Cure - Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me (I spin this very frequently. It’s experimental in a very elegant 80s manner and comes off psychedelic at times..which I like. It’s also an album where the studio feels like a playground, where the group just went beserk)
Amygdala - s/t (Japanese music to woo foxes with)
“The Guide says there is an art to flying or rather a knack. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.”

Illusion | Out of the Mist — very enjoyable outing from the original Renaissance lineup

Camel | Stationary Traveller — Vopos anyone?

Kayak | Royal Bed Bouncer — very tuneful Dutch stuff. Some of my favorites on here. Chance for a Lifetime, Moments of Joy, Life of Gold, If This is Your Welcome, and many more!

Can | Live in Stuttgart 1975 — just one of the six sides today

Quiet Sun | Mainstream — played this pretty loud today. sounds mighty nice that way

10cc | How Dare You! — hadn’t played 10cc in a while, it’s something I’m rarely in the mood to hear, but this album seems to fit most any mood of mine. Maybe a tad darker than usual for them, not quite as giddy and smartassy.

Utopia | Oops! Wrong Planet — Arena Rock! Stale beer! Stale weed! Body odor! Crammed seating!

Graham Coxon | Love Travels at Illegal Speeds — Blur guitarist with one of his several fine solo efforts. He likes revving up the tempo and flooring you with power pop melodies and great riffs. Good man.

Fuse | Fuse — 1969 hard psych band with Rick Nielsen and Tom Peterson, later to form Cheap Trick. This is pretty good, actually. Very derivative, but loud and kinda fast, so there’s that.

Have I Told You Lately that I've been listening to Van Morrison's albums all of last week and today? Wink

I'm looking forward to hearing Van the Man's latest album which includes a song titled "No More Lockdown". Amen to that! Tongue
