Just found this news that sound rather interesting. I guess it will be interesting to hear what Gilmour can do to some of The Who's classics.

Thanks for posting this news!

I'm looking forward to checking this out. I'm a big fan of both Gilmour and Townshend.

It's interesting that Townshend wanted to work with Gilmour because Townshend often seems competitive and standoffish when it comes to other guitarists (Jimmy Page and Jimi Hendrix for example).

I don't know anything about Townshend being particularly competitive or anything (though I actually know very little about him apart from being in The Who), but still is seemed a bit strange for me to have had shows with Gilmour as a guitar player. It's not really so strange that bands or solo artists, even guitar players, go on tour with suporting guitarists, but having such a high profile one seems strange. Then again, Gilmour did tour with Manzanera on his "On an Island" tour, which I guess would be something similar. Still, I wonder how much guitar we can expect from Gilmour and how much of Townshend himself.

Townshend supplied lyrics for both "Love on the Air" and "All Lovers are Deranged" off of Gilmour's About Face album.

I actually recorded it from TV. I think it's the exhibition at the Rockpalast in Germany. That version of Blue Light featured that percussionist whose name I never remember, che's also on the Mike Oldfield's Millennium concert.
The duet with Simon Phillips was fantastic.

I just read that the show actually features Gilmour as the lead guitarist throughout the concert. Now, I really wonder how it came to happen that Townsend would not take that role in a concert of his own.

Would have thought that Pete would be happy to take the Rhythm role for this one, given that is his strength

I don't really know so much about him, except for some Who songs, so I might have missed that aspect of him.
