It's the debut Band Of Gypsys performance.

Some of the tracks have been released before. But this is the first time all the tracks have been released.

It's been recently mixed from the original tapes by Eddie Kramer and John McDermott. And Bernie Grundman has done the mastering.

It will be released on CD, double vinyl, SACD and digital download.

I'm really excited about this!

If you want more details, check out the official Jimi Hendrix website:

Yeah I saw that, incredible news for the fans! Although I have most of this concert on a bootleg with a low sound quality, still I'm excited to listen to it with a better sound quality.

I have always wanted to hear more of the Band of Gypsys live performances.  Can hardly wait. Approve

Terrific news. Next release will (I hope) be the following night. The compilations will be unnecessary and the bootlegs redundant. Still loved the original Band of Gypsys LP though...

I'm a sucker for most Hendrix releases (whether I own them in triplicate or not). I'll get this just to hear the differences in the mixes from previous releases/bootlegs.

Listening to it now.
When I first heard it I remember feeling more inclined to hear the "Power Of Soul" from the contractual 1970 album.
A late birthday present! The version of Machine Gun is unlike anything I've heard. Normal versions have it played more reverent and thinking of War use.
This version is a lot friendlie!

For example, the Band Of Gypsies version is "DOOM! DREAD! COME CHILDREN THAT I WARN!!"
Whereas the version of it on this album is more "Hey kids! Want to see something special? It's called a machine gun! If it hits you it takes to a magic land called 'DEATH'!

The Band Of Gypsies is tailor made to be played on Late Night Television Studios where it's still OK to smoke.
The version from this excellent "Fillmore East" sounds like Jimi Hendrix could of at least performed this version on afternoon TV chat shows with cookery.

I looked at the 70 minute runtime. And yet it seems to play faster and faster the more it is repeated?
I really love "STOP" on this album.
Is January,01/01/1970 being released early next year to be buried by Pink Floyd stuff?

I'm glad I've contributed to the company that has made this album. And I hope we get everything acoustic, even the unfinished"Black Gold" demos soon.

It's funny, either last year or the year before I was listening to Disc 4 of the greatest Hendrix box "West Coast Seattle Boy" and wishing, I wish there was more live stuff of the Band Of Gypsies.

And since making this post, I've now noticed how amazing this version of "Ezy Ryder" is!

Three more releases yet (there were four performances). Not yet been compiled in the almost inevitable box set... Christmas 2017 perhaps.
