I'm proud to announce that my second prog book project is now almost completed.

The 336 pages of Prog Finlandia contain information about nearly 300 Finnish artists, covering progressive rock, psychedelia, folk-rock, fusion, electronic music and art-pop. From Blues Section (1967) to bands that have debuted recently.

Despite the language-mixing title (there's a pun: "Pro Finlandia" is an honour medal for Finnish artists), the book is naturally written in Finnish. It's a self-budgeted release and can be ordered directly from me also.

Estimated date of release: the late September or early October 2016.

This sounds fantastic! Congratulations on your achievement.

So much music I love comes from Finland. I'd love to be able to read the book, but I have to admit to myself that I'm not going to learn Finnish

Thanks!
I'll let you (all) know if sometime I will make an English-language edition of my prog book(s).
My lady friend is terrific in English, and with her help I might come up with a decent translation. And there are no financial or practical obstacles either. It's only up to me and having enough time and will for it. In three years' time, maybe... Ermm

Ah, very nice! Finland is actually one of my favorite countries in Prog. So many good bands... Scapa Flow, Kalevala, Charlies, Elonkorjuu, Haikara, Fantasia to newer ones like Sammal.

If your lady friend ever does this I'm happy to give the manuscript a proofread and pick up any typos, grammar issues, non-idiomatic usages, etc. I have native British English and proofreading/editing experience.

Don't forget new band Malady!

Looks wonderful, Matti. I would love to read it--I too will have to wait for the English translation, unfortunately.

This is fantastic news! I will buy it immediately when it comes in swedish (or english if you must...).
Finnish prog has a special place in my heart.

I would love to buy this book!   My three favorite countries for music are England, Germany and Finland.  Love Records released so many amazing albums in the 70's.

We should all post encouragement to this thread at least once a week until The Great Translation Project is underway.

No pressure
