Could have easily chosen Hot Rats, Grand Wazoo, Apostrophe, or Roxy & Elsewhere, but went with One Size Fits All...
He neither drank, smoked, nor rode a bicycle. Living frugally, saving his money, he died early, surrounded by greedy relatives. It was a great lesson to me -- John Barrymore

All good choices and like them all too but I chose Uncle Meat was it or WOIIFTM for me.

Into Grand Wazoo at the moment even brought a nice vinyl copy in France while on hols. "In France" FZ reference call it conceptual continuity - I'm sure Frank would like that. lol

Roxy & Elsewhere
One Size Fits All
Uncle Meat
Hot Rats
Sleep Dirt [not listed]
We're Only In It For The Money
The Grand Wazoo
Waka/Jawaka
Ship Arriving Too Late To Save A Drowning Witch [not listed]
Absolutely Free
You Are What You Is

Apostrophe
Freak Out!
Over-nite Sensation

Weasels Ripped My Flesh

Chunga's Revenge

There are 6 volumes of YCDTOSA. Also, there is Shut Up N Play Yer Guitar albums and Guitar. I would put all those in between You Are and Apostrophe.

Like your selections - all very good.

What do you think of the more recent Trust releases? eg Everythings are healing nicely etc or FZ:OZ
Being from OZ  I kinda like that one.

I wonder if the trust keeps on releasing albums, could (in theory), if they go on releasing them at the current rate- out eclipse all other prog album releases in history.
Would keep Zappa plays Zappa in material infinitely......... scary thought

Maybe Buckethead has other ideas! Embarrassed

I put Roxy first but I actually voted for OSFA. Re: ZFT releases...I've heard some but not all. FZ:OZ was one of them. They all have something unique about them to recommend them.

One Size Fits All seems to be doing well

no one for Weasels Ripped My Flesh takes some listening but is worth it

Almost impossible to list a 'favourite', and that will shift over time.  The first Zappa I ever heard was 'One Size' - that stayed with me!

I have many favourites from Uncle Frank and his band of Merry Men, but there's something special about Uncle Meat.

I love 90% of Zappa's stuff but I continue to go back to 'Over-Nite Sensation' over and over again.

I chose Apostrophe because it was the first Zappa album I bought back in the day, followed by Overnite Sensation. I don't think there is a right or wrong answer here.

Hot Rats but I could have easily picked five or more other ones. Time to listen to some Frank I'd say.

I must say which , although I recognize Frank Zappa is one of biggest genius of 20th Century music, Hot Rats and Apostrophe  are the only albums in Zappa's extensive discography which I can hear entirely !!!
