I don't like any of them, but Moonchild is just one of the worst songs I've had the displeasure of hearing.

There are no BAD tracks on this album, but for the sake of this poll my least fave is Moonchild.
A GREAT YEAR FOR PROG!!!

I'm sorry, but if someone has to write an expository essay with citations, quotes from scholars and other implements of destruction trying to explain why I should like a certain song, then I am afraid it is a wasted exercise. It's rather like abstract art. Entitling a blob of paint on a canvas "Autumn slumber of a Desolate Urchin in Giverny" will not get me enthused as to its artistic merit. And neither does putting lipstick on a pig.LOL

I am with the majority here - Moonchild, followed, perhaps oddly, by 21st Century Schizoid Man.

you don't have to read such an article, you just have to listen with an open mind and open ears. Certif1ed and I independently came to the same conclusion about "Moonchild". in my opinion clearly the best track of the album

So, because I don't like a specific song, and am uninterested in being lectured to, it means I don't have an open mind? And particularly so because you somehow have come to the conclusion that 10 minutes of tinkling cymbals and the pitter-pat of errant drums is the best track on an important prog album? To each his or her own my dear. If I want ambient background noise, I won't pay for the privilege. I'll just turn on the dishwasher, put bread in the toaster and listen to the gurgle of the coffeemaker brewing to get the same effect.

Best - In the Court/Epitaph (both excellent)

OK - 20th Century Schizoid Man
Boring - I Talk to The Wind

Atrocious drivel - Moonchild

An easy vote!

that's not what I said at all. what I mean is anybody with an open mind can hear what is going on in that song. it is in my opinion absolutely obvious that the instrumental part of "Moonchild" mirrors the part with lyrics, without having to read an article about it. you are however free to like that or not. I happen to like it, but de gustibus non est disputandum

I always get impatient for Moonchild to end so I can listen to a real song!

I has to be Moonchild, unfortunatley... though I do enjoy the vocal part a lot (if I only counted that part of the song, my vote would go to "I talk to the wind". However, if I do put the whole album on and just listen to it, I would actually enjoy even the whole of Moonchild and it wouldn't work to leave it out.

Not surprisingly, "Moonchild". Even then, there's some parts I like, so I can't just dismiss it. But that's just me.

The impro part of Moonchild could've been left out and the album would have had exacly the same impact on me. To be honest, I skip it every time. ;)
