Looking into prog artists that did soundtracks...  Which are your best Goblin cd's or albums?

Hopefully this is not a daft question.  Is Goblin Rebirth the same band?  Confused

Goblin Rebirth is a project of former Goblin rhythm section Fabio Pignatelli (bass) and Agostino Marangolo (drums)

I think Goblin has some problems snice there is a Claudio Simonetti's Goblin.

Mine to followed by Suspiria. Never liked Roller much. Sounds like "all other prog". I'd say after those legendary OST's it's more fruitful to dig deeper into various side projects by members of the band.

I Libra Shock from 1977 featuring two former Goblin members is an even better soundtrack than Suspiria

Goblin aka Il Reale Impero Britannico* - Perché Si Uccidono, 1976

*For the release of the soundtrack to Mauro Macario's film Perché Si Uccidono - La Merde, Goblin used the alias Il Reale Impero Britannico due to the controversial subject matter of the movie; for the first and only time.

I like songs off most of their albums from 75-83. Contamination is one of my faves
All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

I was fortunate to see Goblin live in Spring of 2014 - it included Massimo Morante on guitar & Fabio Pignatelli on bass (as well as Maurizio Guarini on keys, Agostino Marangolo on drums, and Steve Moore from Zombi!):

It was a great show, I love Fabio Pignatelli's bass playing, it made me appreciate their music more. I love the film Dawn of the Dead (well, the first half anyway) and Zombi's music plays an important part, but the soundtrack album is kind of disappointing. I saw Profundo Rosso recently for the first time and loved the music in that one and find the album much more satisfying.

The album that really impresses me is Goblin Rebirth - modern and classic sounding at the same time. I'm checking out Four of a Kind (by Goblin) right now - never heard of it until today! - but I don't think I like it as much as Goblin Rebirth.

^ "Goblin Rebirth Alive" DVD. 2 hours perfection of Goblin music is right there w/ very good audio (+ picture) quality. Just buy it, it´s cheap ridiculous 17 euros from BTF. It. Prego
You may see a smile on Tony Banks´ face but that´s unlikely.

Profundo Rosso is my favorite, but you're cheating yourself if you don't see the film.   Maybe my favorite horror film ever!
