I'm throwing this one out there simply because The Anchoress (stage name for multi-instrumentalist and singer Catherine Anne Davies) picked up the Limelight Award at the 2016 Prog Magazine’s Progressive Music Awards last Thursday.
Her record label (K-Scope, who also sponsor the Limelight category) seems to think at least one of her songs (Popular) is "Angular Prog-Pop" but personally I'm not convinced. I've had her debut album, "Confessions of a Romance Novelist", for a few months now and while it's good, no single track stands out to me as being particularly Prog though viewed as a whole the album could maybe be considered to be a tenuous shoe-in for Crossover. Debut album: Confessions of a Romance Novelist - K-Scope (Produced by Paul Draper) 1. Long Year [3:51] 2. What Goes Around [4:17] 3. Doesn't Kill You [4:39] 4. You And Only You feat. Paul Draper [4:08] 5. One For Sorrow [3:24] 6. P.S. F*ck You [3:18] 7. Popular [3:56] 8. Bury Me [3:43] 9. Intermission (Notes To The Editor) [2:08] 10. Waiting To Breathe [3:02] 11. Chip On Your Shoulder [2:58] 12. Confessions Of A Romance Novelist [6:26] Edited by Dean - September 05 2016 at 05:53 |

Good stuff. Thanks for the heads-up.
Similar sounding artists have certainly made it into Crossover in the past...albeit not always without an element of controversy, as I seem to remember. Let's hope the team spot the thread (a tap on the shoulder from someone of appropriate status definitely wouldn't hurt though ) - they haven't been too active around here of late - mind you, the backlog of cleared artists on progfreak has recently been dealt with (bar one), so maybe things are now on the up again. Edit: Although Rudé Kostry still shows as a cleared artist on progfreak, Louis (rdtprog) has actually added the band to Crossover: http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=9901, albeit without the two albums on the band's page at the moment (finding an image for the earlier one isn't proving too easy so far). There are thus no cleared artists outstanding for Crossover on progfreak at the moment. Louis is in fact the one who has added all the outstanding bands/artists that had been sitting in the Crossover 'cleared' chart on progfreak for a good while, so the current activity level of the Crossover team itself still remains highly uncertain.

'Confessions of a Romance Novelist' is now up on progstreaming: http://progstreaming.nl/pages/play-album.php?activeAlbum=2017-01-11-05+-+The+Anchoress+-+Confessions+of+a+Romance+Novelist.
I reckon it's definitely worth an evaluation, so 'bump' for Crossover...though I do still feel we're going to need a collab's help in getting this suggestion added to their chart. I added her to progfreak anyway: http://progfreak.com/The-Anchoress-167923.html - that's about as much as I can do as a senior member here. Just in case the progstreaming link expires before she gets checked out, here's the spotify link to the album too: https://play.spotify.com/album/4N9fhdEuiy4tCLn4SQw5ci. And once again - this is a really good album, even if it's not outrageously proggy.

David - I've just rejoined the team, and am trying to get things up to date, so PM me if you think there's been issues with things being missed. I'm having some problems with PF tonight, but I'll add it to the charts tomorrow and post in the Crossover thread.

David - are you sure? Still showing as cleared in PF, I can't find any sign of them on PA and your link goes to as different act? |

^ Well it was there before!...Unless I'm going totally mad! I can only speculate that the entry was subsequently removed because it wasn't complete, and the artist id number was then used for adding Evership. Only our admins will know the answer to this one, I guess...or maybe Louis himself could throw some light on it? I don't think I dreamt this entry up...but then again, at my age all sorts of weird unexplained things can happen!
Edit: I am going mad!...Here is the explanation why Rudé Kostry's entry no longer appears at the above link: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=107750. I knew I hadn't dreamt the entry up...but somehow I'd forgotten about the query I posted in the in the 'Report bugs' forum when the original suggestion thread for him disappeared from the site.
