Ten of the more well known bands to have come out of La Belle Province.
Pick which one you like the most.

one has to wonder about Mystery's presence (or GYBE!'s FTM) in this list.
Not the same era or the same language sung
I went for Sloche, but Maneige would've deserved a tie.

Sloche, Maneige and Harmonium are of equal beauty. I voted for Maneige.

Sloche today, Harmonium tomorrow, Opus-5 the next day, and Maneige the day after that. Then back to Sloche...

Harmonium is my favourite of these (possibly one of my top 5 prog bands), but I figured they and Maneige were doing well enough so I cast my vote for the underdog Opus-5.
Harmonium > Maneige > Opus-5 > Pollen > Et Cetera
I never really cared for Sloche, oddly enough, since in theory they should be a band I really enjoy.

Sloche are awesome. Maniege just don't match the quality imo
|
All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

One of the greatest bands ever to come out of Québec (or anywhere, really) - the mighty Miriodor - is not listed. They are one of the very few bands tagged RIO/Avant that appeal to more traditional-minded prog fans, and have been around for over thirty years. They are also a delight to watch on stage, and a bunch of lovely guys to boot.
