Not quite my fave 25 as I'd take many songs over Minstrel in the gallery and Black Satin dancer but I wanted to cover at least 4 songs per year. Maybe I should have chosen Requiem over Minstrel in the gallery. Smile

All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

Moths. Might just be the best song they've ever done.

Pretty odd that minstrel is winning. I was about to swap it with Requiem lol. It may not make my top 30

Acres Wild, although almost all my favourites from that era are missing from the list.

1) Dun ringill
2) Minstrel
3) one brown mouse (from Live bursting Out - love Ian's intro and reaction when the crowd don't applaud enough!!)

So, you decided that songs that didn't make the albums are better than those that did - and then neglect to add Rainbow Blues? I'd add Salamander, Sea Lion, Skating Away, Velvet Green, Taxi Grab and Baker St. Muse to the ones Kingsnake mentioned.

And you added the short version of One White Duck?
Why for Tull's sake?

As a big Tull fan that I've been, this is a hard list to choose. Many great songs in here. I'll go for Minstrel In The Gallery, but I would have voted for Baker Street Muse if it would have been included.

Minstrel in the Gallery no question, the best Jethro Tull song.

Songs such as stitch in time, good godmother, up the pool, summerday, strip cartoon etc sound like classic Tull to me. Quality sound and composition with trademark vocals from Ian and guitar work from Martin. But I do quite like velvet, rainbow, salamander and skating. I couldn't fit them in though
