Wow! Although it is entirely instrumental (except for a short spoken intro to track four, 'Journey One'), this is one of the best albums of the year so far for me. So much going on here - from some delicate ambient soundscapes through melodic Crossover Prog type passages to some quite hectic Jazz/Rock style workouts...with a quite symphonic feel too to the music in places - so yeah, Eclectic is right on the money imho as far as a place to start the evaluation off is concerned.

Really enjoyed this one, so thanks for the heads up Olav. Thumbs Up

A bit of info from their official website: http://www.tenderton.org/:

Tenderton is a quartet consisting of the musicians Arild Hammerø (guitar), Morten Kvam (bass), Marius Simonsen (drums) and Haakon-Marius Pettersen (keyboard instruments).

They are based in Norway, but regularly travel abroad on musical ventures.

Their self-titled debut record was released on the label Little Birdie, and is distributed by Musikkoperatørene. It can be purchased on CD format, streamed, or bought as digital files.

- Arild Hammerø / guitar
- Morten Kvam / bass
- Marius Simonsen / drums
- Haakon-Marius Pettersen / keyboards

A no brainer as far as I'm concerned!

PS whilst on the subject of new prog from Norway, it's about time someone took a look at the holon thread. Unhappy I ran it twice through the new suggestions forum with no replies whatsoever in the five weeks since it was first posted, and the album's been getting some pretty decent reviews since: http://www.artisttrove.com/artist/146464005488592/holon. The progstreaming link I posted is no more, but the popmatters album stream still works...for now, at least!
