Hmm Funeral For A friend is a work in and of itself. And it is great. Watcher's intro is "just an intro". Three terrific pieces.
This makes me think of Rush lyrics; let's see if you can decide which, I choose not to. |

Both great, but Genesis just wins for me.
The one track that I think pips both is Hero and Heroine by Strawbs. Short, but magnificent.

Hard to choose. I'll have to think about it before I can vote.

I would have pitted Genesis' Watcher' against U.K.'s Alaska. With that said, WATCHER'.

Personally, I think Emerson Lake and Palmer's Pirates, and Rush's Big Money have the most grand prog-like openers.

Went for Elton John. Well, Dream Theater doing Elton John to be more precise.
Still think this would've been more interesting if we had more than 2 to choose from though... Edited by RoeDent - October 17 2016 at 11:36 |

Between these two, Elton John. Watcher of The Skies just sounds so bland.
But if I had to pick an all-time most majestic intro, it would probably be The Revealing Science of God. |
