Topic: Nirvana or Pixies? Posted: October 18 2016 at 07:15 |
Which alt.rock band is your pick and why? My choise is Pixies all the way. I always find Nirvana so overrated as 90's band, esp. with their album Nevermind. Even I prefer grunge bands Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden over Nirvana. And one fact: no Pixies - no Nirvana!

neither I listen every once in a while to Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam's Ten. Also The Cure and Joy Division are worthier for a listen than these two (IMO).

Both were awesome, but Pixies win it easily for me. Despite Nirvana being the only band I've seen playing a club before they got huge, who then went on to get huge.

It's been a long time since I've listened to the Pixies, and I really like Nirvana's Bleach and In Utero albums. Nevermind's been so overplayed, I can't listen to it much. I'll have to revisit the Pixies before I vote.

Nirvana. I don't mind Pixies, but I have a lot more time and memories tied to Nirvana's catalog. They obviously had a short career, but what was put out was great, IMO.
