Which of these 1976 great albums you like more? And which album is more influential to the later period of rock/metal music, in your opinion?
I would pick Rising, slightly.

Rainbow Rising. "A Light in the Black" is one of my all-time favorites.

Rising - the most epic and heaviest B-side to any album ever.

In terms of personal preference? Rising by a very wide margin. Tarot Woman is one of rock's most powerful openers, and Dio's voice is pure testosterone.

I'm not sure which one I'd consider more influential, though; I hear shades of both in a lot of stuff that came after.

Rising for Stargazer, 2112 for the Overture, Syrinx and probably A Passage to Bangkok.

I think they are both equally influential on hard rock. Both essential.

Very difficult this one.      2112 and Stargazer are such magnificent tracks that give me such great pleasure to listen to.
Both great albums.
Nope cannot decide

2112 for me. Not Rush's greatest album, but very good.

Rising is quite good but I've never been a huge fan of Rainbow.

Rising has nothing quite like 2112 itself, but it does have Stargazer and A Light in the Black.  Plus, the rest of the album is better than side two of Rush.

Both damn fine albums, but I'll vote Rising.
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!
